چکیده

Abstract Background and aim Currently, nonalcoholic liver disease (NAFLD) is the most predominant chronic disorder. NAFLD has been linked to hepatic extrahepatic morbidities. We aimed investigate role of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI), hepatorenal index (HRI), serum microRNA-130b as non-invasive predictors for kidney (CKD) in patients. Material methods In a case–control design, we included 40 patients (20 with CKD 20 without CKD) healthy controls. After clinical evaluation, laboratory assessments including test profile, renal function test, quantification were done. Liver steatosis stiffness evaluated using HRI ARFI. Results ARFI readings significantly higher among compared other groups ( P < 0.001). The median values 32.1, 27.01, 25.36 copies/µl CKD, controls, respectively, significant differences between 0.05). positively correlated At cutoff value > 28.13 copies/µl, could differentiate “NAFLD CKD” sensitivity specificity 75% 70%, respectively AUC = 71.9%, 0.018). Conclusions Serum microRNA-130b, HRI, are valuable noninvasive markers assessment NAFLD. MicroRNA-130b suggested sensitive biomarker prediction good specificity.

The development of chronic kidney disease in Japanese patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Objective Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is present in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The aim of this retrospective study was to assess the cumulative development incidence and predictive factors for new onset of CKD in Japanese patients with NAFLD. Methods A total of 5,561 NAFLD patients without CKD were enrolled. CKD was defined as either an estimated glomerular filtrat...
